As far as I know, the RPG Maker program source files are fair game. Interpretation of the theme Evolution was advanced humans competing with 'regular humans'. Not fine-tuned, most glitches should be out however.

First time attempting this! Thank you all for playing!

It's been brought to my attention that it may not run if you don't have certian file types on your computer, due to the program not saving all the game elements in the same folder. If you get an error that says "RGSS102E.dll could not be found." or any other RGSS-related error you should be able to fix it by downloading the rest of the files from the second link. Just put it in the same folder you extract the game to and theoretically it will fix all the things...

I like how granpa just get rid of the part with the spiders, how convenient. Nice storytelling, but I didn't really get the evolution here, although I can see the theme at the beginning of the game with the previous civilisation and animal people. You did a fine job in two days, but more custom graphics and systems would have been welcomed.

I liked how this was going, and it could definitely be an interesting game if finished. I didn't really see the evolution aspect in this game either.

'Device could not run...?' That's a new one...
This shouldn't be a device...did you download to a flashdrive or CD before installing?

Hvedrung & darkstarmatryx:
I was going for a more loose interpretation of the theme, but you are right, I probably should have made it more prominant. Unfortunately, developing it was one of the things that I ran out of time on.

Thank you all for playing!

I have a soft spot for RPG's so it was entertaining. Nice artwork and sound, did you make all the assets or did you source them from somewhere? I played till you rescue the sister Laura, once you get her you cant see to leave the castle. I went back to get her and it seems you can keep rescuing her and she gets added to your party but it doesn't register that shes saved. Besides that I couldn't go back and buy more potions from the store (I had forgotten to). Good job on your first Ludum Dare, keep making more RPG's.

creative630: the sprites and backgrounds are in the program, but the main character's faces I drew myself and imported (thus the pink around them where it didn't cut out the backgorund properly). Thank you for playing!
