this is a nice and simple game. you can add somthing that detect if it is outside of the view area and puts it back in.

great start to a game! kinda funny mine is kind of similar but different.

Compiles on Linux if you have the case correct for the SDL headers. A general rule for SDL is also only include the header "SDL.h" and not the directory. In the future you may also want to put a delay in the main loop: http://www.libsdl.org/cgi/docwiki.cgi/Programming_FAQ

Overall, not too bad. It definitely has some good things going for it.
