Very nice work! It is a real game that you made. I liked the concept of "life = range of sight" and the dying sequence was funny :D

I suggest that when the player dies, he can restart from the current level instead of coming back to zero.

I liked the narration too.

I cannot understand why a game like this is not played more than that! Moops you need to rate some games.

Pretty solid game, interesting take on a roguelike if you ask me.

Wow, this needs to be played by more people. Everything about it is great. I especially like the lighting/death sequence and the music is epic!

There didn't seem to be a way to die...?
I managed to just sit in a corner of the second world getting run into by hundreds of bugs and other creatures, but nothing ever happened besides cats flying away.

@jomacel I forgot to ifdef out part of the shader, it should work now. Sorry about that and thanks for the detailed report!

Awesome! The lighting system was really cool, as well as the backgrounds and some of the other effects. I really liked the variation in the sounds too. Very unforgiving later on in the game however. I also saw little use it the shield because it was so finicky and hard to control. All in all I really liked it!

This was a fun game! The dungeon level, it was initially a tad difficult to tell what you could walk on, and what would kill you, but I love the line of sight idea!

This is very good! Nice graphics, nice sounds, good story, balanced gameplay and responsive controls. Great job, I enjoyed it!

It was fun at first, but then it got a little repetitive. The permadeath didn't help either. Maybe you could have improved some areas instead of adding more.

The cats-for-health thing seemed a little tacked on, but I do like that health is linked to your torch radius. The black ghost thingies were pleasingly creepy too. I couldn't get past the first dungeon level though, and I stopped trying because starting from the beginning takes so long and there's not much replay value.

You did a great job making the game harder as you get further in the game!

@Cipher: I don't think I'll be able to fix that bug, it's due to an incompatibility with your graphics card/driver and the shaders I wrote. I'm new to shaders so there were bound to be some incompatibilities. Apologies!

The mood and the sound were both great, good job! The gameplay felt a bit random and unfocused, however. The difficulty curve shifts dramatically upon hitting the last stage. Prior to that point, I wasn't even sure if you COULD die. Starting over from the very beginning after death was rather annoying, but the death animation was very cool to watch.
