It's fun trying to figure out which ones are carriers. However, the waiting game can get a little boring and it's sometimes hard to tell which one it spawned from. Overall, great concept, I just wish there was more done with it."},{"author_name":"racarate","author_uid":"10426","time":"Aug 27, 2012 @ 5:14am","epoch":1346044140,"text":"I try not to read any of the descriptions before I play the game, but I accidentally read your first sentence and it was incredible. Most things that at first seem like design flaws (like the hellbeasts greying out after a while) actually work out in the game's favor (punishing the player for waiting too long). The disease makes them spit waves of death. Some of the beasts carry the disease without suffering from it, but they can pass them on to their children. Find all of the carriers and destroy them while saving the others.\r\n\r\nMouse click controls the crosshairs. Cull who you choose.\r\n\r\nMade with the Love 2D engine and public library hump. \r\n\r\nINSTRUCTIONS:\r\n\r\nWindows x86 version available (http:\/\/www.sendspace.com\/file\/qvo90t)\r\nUnzip. Don't alter the folder contents. Just run Game.exe.\r\n\r\n\r\nFor the most RELIABLE results, install your choice of the Love 2D Engine version 0.71 or 0.72 from https:\/\/love2d.org\/ and download the game in .love form (http:\/\/www.sendspace.com\/file\/pifn7r).  No doubt you will find other love 2D games for this jam too, so you've saved some time in the long run, maybe. \r\n\r\nI just realized that I developed the game in Love version 0.7___ and forgot to upgrade to 0.8.  This may explain all of my issues :\/. Please use version 0.7___ of the engine, please. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWindows 64 bit: I can't test this, but try downloading http:\/\/www.sendspace.com\/file\/ow1jnx and running TheOmnicideGenotype-64.exe. It is a crapshoot. \r\n\r\nLinux and Mac: download the love engine as specified above\r\n\r\nFor those wanting to know the theme connection: Evolution in a strict biological sense is the change of allele frequencies in a population. <\/p>","title":"The Omnicide Genotype"}
