Gene Game by Split82
Gene Game is puzzle solving game about combining nucleotides in DNA sequences.
This is my first LD entry and I'm really glad it went better than I expected.
I managed to create quite complex puzzle solving game. The basic idea was to combine something like Space Chem and Trainyard. I didn't have much time to create more than 9 levels, but anyway the 8th and 9th are not very easy.
I've used Futile engine by Matt Rix which works under Unity 3D.
This was the first time I programmed in C#, so the code isn't very nice ;)
Music was composed and recorded in Logic Studio.
Graphics in Photoshop.
Zwoptex for texture atlases.
bmGlyph for bitmap fonts.
If you like the game you can try also the new version where I changed few things a little bit and created more levels. (Post Compo version)

The controls are easy if you played space chem, but hard to figure out all of them. The game dont explain the "repeat last movement" movement.
In the post-compo version you changed the fusion/defusion turn-order, and it actually happen after each movement. I like the compo version, when you have to play with that variable too.
Cant vote because didnt upload my game (didnt have time) but once again, good job :)
+ I like how you divided the execution in "phases" - that was pretty clever. You can't have them bumping into each other AND having them move simultaneously.
- kinda short on levels, but that's understandable since the time was too short
*I also made a game similar to this, but with more programming (Robot Unlock), and I released it even before Space Chem... I see everyone liked and remembers Space Chem (shameless self-advertisement)
