Hey, Little Amoeba! by decultured

[raw]
made by decultured for LD24 (COMPO)
In this game you control a cluster of green spheres that supposedly represent an Amoeba, and run around picking up green food boxes while avoiding the red poison boxes (which will kill off one of your spheres).

No win or lose conditions, but still pretty happy with what I was able to accomplish over the 48hrs, considering I was building an engine at the same time as making the game.

Speaking of, new engine features added over 48hrs:

Basic GUI with text labels and buttons, spring force driven network graph, scene graphs, mouse input interactions, sprite sheets, tile maps, sprite animations, and more... productive days!

Actually a fun mechanic, the controls and movement were pretty cool! It didn't really go anywhere though... I kept waiting for some kind of advancement (or, you know, evolution ;) but nothing happened.

+ Graphics were nice.
+ Love the physics of the cluster! Just wanted to move it around to see what it did.
+ The setting fit into the theme, I was anticipating *something* evolving.
+ Nice text and over UI look.

- Not really a game, no win/lose/change.

Congrats on finishing. I really liked just playing and moving the character, and the graphics and audio were very pleasing.

Only providing Mac OS X builds will kind of make nobody vote for you. Provide GNU/Linux and Windows too? ^^

No, don't worry I'll vote for you :D
Your game needs some kind of score keeping.

I really like the physics of it. That cluster seemed very amoeba-like.
