Sustenance by pardue
Sustenance is a timed survival game where resources are limited and you may not be the only one with an appetite.
OBJECTIVE - Stay alive as long as possible.
CONTROLS - Arrow Keys for movement and either ASD or ZXC to expel colors Red Green and Blue respectively
This was my first Ludum Dare and I am glad I was able to get something done to show. I didn't complete all that I would of liked but I learned a lot and I'm looking forward to Ludum Dare 25!!!

Other than that, I really liked how those small colour blobs moved around, they felt organic somehow.
Also having more than 4 background colors would be cool and making it so you just have to be close to the background color to be hidden.
@ sgehlich - Unity has a great community behind it and tutorials are easy to find.
@camdensegal - I was thinking of something similar but didn't feel I had time to implement it. I may redo the project with different enemies. Thanks for the input. :)
@headchant - I am not sure what the problem is, I just retested the links and they seem to work fine.
It was a bit hard at first because I kept having to remember which keys expelled which color. Although I really think this game would be 100x more fun if I could just move!
Then it would be you would try to seek out bacteria which are the colour of the background, and perhaps the colours would be dynamically generated. Could be loads of fun!
So yeah, good concept!
If you develop it further I'd try it out with lots of enemies that you have to avoid but a lower percentage of them chase you the closer you get to the colour of the background. Maybe you can eat them when they can't see you? I don't know, I think this idea's got legs (pun - sort of).
Anyway, knowing that I had to get to the right colour did a good job of making me scared while I played because I don't know how to make most colours!
But dude, in 48hours that's really a damn nice job, great idea and implementation! It just needs polish now, and I really think you should do it!
Also, thanks for your comment on my game.
Cheers!
Good job on the execution, I just wish it had a bit more to it.
