Ada by cricklewood

I highly recommend you play this on Firefox because
the player does not seem to render properly on Google Chrome.

There is also a bug that prevents you from getting to the game from the main menu screen. The only solution to this as far as I'm aware is to refresh the page to reset the game. Sorry.

Ada is vulnerable to warm temperatures.
The aim of the game is to survive as long as possible by eating grass and drinking water.

Controls:
A - move left
D - move right
E - eat or drink

How does this fit into the evolution theme? Originally I wanted the environment to constantly change by time and then you try to adapt to it. But unfortunately this idea proved to be too much for my limited experience and time.
Also, I used up too much time composing a 4 minute soundtrack which some of it didn't get used.

Enjoy it somehow!

nice little and simple but clever. Nice synthy retro sound logo and soundtrack, nice mood. Our game was also about adaption. So, we would be happy if you rated it. Search for 芦The Darwinci Code禄!

Very buggy, indeed. It seems to keep registering that I died after I died once.

@_AM_ Yes. I'll attempt to fix the framerate issues and the dying glitch over the coming weekend.

@wlad You're too nice!

Wouldn't load for me. Couldn't get past the start screen.

I like the music. It's weird that I need to wait for some time after clicking on Start before the level loads. I like the idea of a changing environment, any chance you'll make a post compo version?

@Kayelee
Thanks for the compliment.

I would like to remake this whole game on Unity at some point.

Using a game library like CraftyJS for Ludum Dare as opposed to using a full-fledged game engine is risky because some time would be spent on technical issues like fixing performance lag.
