Dungeon Thingy (Unfinished) by JosephLittle

[raw]
made by JosephLittle for LD24 (COMPO)
Hey, this is my first ever Ludum Dare entry and I've enjoyed participating very much!
My game isn't nearly as finished as I wanted it to be so I'll give you a run down of what I wanted it to be, what it is and what it isn't.

What I wanted:
A Rogue-like where you are a monster that EVOLVES and rid the dungeon of pesky heroes for you master. You would choose certain evolutions at points during that game that would give you new abilities (Invisibility, poison, ect.) and then you'd carry on until you died and got a highscore (How many heroes you killed).

What it is:
Right now it's a simple little game where you run around a one floor dungeon (Ladders don't work yet), opening doors and running away from an angry looking head. The dungeon works, the line of sight works, simple AI works, death works, and so does some other stuff. Oh and the dungeon is randomly generated (That took me the first 12 hours :D).

What it isn't:
A lot. I'm sure you can see what it isn't but I'm planning on finishing this game as I'm enjoying making it :)

Thanks for taking a look, comments are very welcome!

EDIT: Reuploaded with some changes to solve problems with XNA.

Hah. I enjoyed it, even though it's small and unfinished. I'm a big fan of random generation and AI, both things I'm no good at. I also liked the personal touch with the readme and ingame notes. Good job on your unfinished game!

Nice randomly generation!
The funny thing is that the monster is not moving if you don't move :p

You mean if you just stay in the same spot? It's because it's meant to be turn based :P Maybe I should have made it more obvious

This kind of game is not really new compared to other rogue-like games. Actually, I think all rogue-like games are like that. :p
Anyhow, it's a shame that you couldn't add more, but your game was nice to play for a while.
