Mad Scientist Monster Maker by frosty

[raw]
made by frosty for LD24 (JAM)
Build up a giant mega-monster and destroy cities!

- Smash buildings to find and eat the 3 scientists in all 5 cities
- Eating humans gains health (citizens and scientists are worth the most)
- Upgrade your monster in your evil genetic lab
- Get bonus points for throwing vehicles
- Eye lazers! When the indicator lights up, press space to shoot. Raising your LAZER stat lets you fire more often.

Post-jam note: I sped up the enemy bullets to make it a bit more challenging.

Cool game, I liked it. Graphics worked, and it used the theme good. It took me a while to find out that you needed to find scientists in buildings.

Hey, that was great. The audio and screen shake really made your actions feel epic. The retro art style worked really nicely too. There is room for improvement in the game play however, I just felt like I was going around aimlessly smashing everything. When you get shot it's not a big deal and there aren't many different strategies you can use. Great work.

That was really fun! I love the feel of the screen shake and the slow stomp of the monster. Was confusing about how to find scientists at first, though. Nice job

This was really cool though it got a tad boring after the second level.

I love this. Sometimes I would smash a little extra before exiting because it was so fun. I played Mail Order Monsters to death when I was a kid. Yes I am old.

Well, that was more fun that it had any right to be. I wish I had more spammable powers and an opponent with knockback would be really good.

Walking seems really slow, probably a deliberate thing, but it does feel very sluggish.

I found the controls very intuitive. What a cool little game!
Even though it was simple, controlling the monster and smashing up the city felt just right.
Great work!

Great game. Difficult but enjoyable. The game related well to the theme. Definitely should be developed further. Very good start. Well done!!!

A great concept executed really well! I had a ton of fun playing it and it was really addicting! If you make a post compo version maybe add more stuff to the actual monster making mechanic?

Dang, this is awesome! A little bit on the slow side, but all the other great things about this make up for it. Really nice work!

Cool game, but I accidentally lasered a scientist and made the second level unwinnable. Maybe killing a scientist could spawn another scientist in a random building?

Nice feelings, fun game. I killed a scientist with a car and couldn't win, but loved the graphics and gameplay
