Bioboy by nddrylliog
Bioboy is a platformer... with a twist! You can't jump or run, all you can do is shoot bubbles (or bullets).
Dictator Price's daughter needs rescuing. Go through 21 levels in increasing number of difficulty, dealing with inert blocks, ice blocks, arrow blocks, snow blocks, spring blocks, bombs, and more! Gain points, unlock powers, and go obtain better times on other levels.
============
Controls:
Backspace: retry a level
Arrows: shoot bubbles/bullets
Ctrl: slow time (when unlocked)
That's it!

The powerups are the evolution part? Could be more prevalent, though it was a hard theme.
Also, there should probably be a way to disable powerups, on some levels the explosive bullets are more of a punishment than a powerup, e.g. Thinking Diagonally can't be finished with them.
Have the gold award time limits been tested to be possible? :D :D I tried to get one for ages but no luck.
Either way, overall it's a very complete game, much of content and finishing touches. I liked it!
And yes - you can get all golds, I've finished the game twice. But you need to 'cheat' a little bit by spamming diagonal bullets :)
Also, the Win32 version is out. Go crazy!
A neat idea, one that I don't think I've seen before. Controls work well, level restarts quickly, which I appreciate. The only thing it seemed to be lacking was a restart button, I had to exit and re-select the level if I got stuck.
Great game, two thumbs up from me.
@Giadio Yep! All levels are possible, but you sometimes have to try the early levels from other worlds in order to gain powers and go back to the first worlds.
The thing I liked the most was the "programmability" of the levels. You have really cool things like loops and switches going on with those triggered blocks. Reminds me a little of the old Windows game "Kye".
