Psee's Food Quest by Dohan

[raw]
made by Dohan for LD24 (JAM)
This was going to be my entry to the 48h compo, but I finished half an hour late...

The final day the anglerfish was finally added and so the dark zone.

The game has no audio.

A neat idea, that just comes off as a little too clunky. The camera system needs work, and the evolution screen was a bit weird to grasp (regeneration seemed pointless, why not just equip?), but it was a great idea overall. With only 48 hours, I'd say you did a pretty good job.

Nice game mechanic, and cool graphics, especially when changing your character's stats through re-evolving. Platforming mechanics were a bit wonky though, and I wasn't sure what shooting did before getting the spike powerup...

I agree. A very neat idea but the implementation needs some work. It frustrated me to traverse the surroundings but I kept on playing just to see what other neat evolutions I can become.

I think this looks a little unpolished. The platform mechanics are not sound and most sprites do not animate. The bullets move too slowly.

Not too bad, although you definitely need to look up some physics in relation to the character's jumping: You generally want a variable representing their vertical speed, and then you increment that variable by a certain amount while the character is in the air.

Not very polish, there are collisions bug, but it's quite fun, it's juste a pitty that there is no sound. Good job !

Cool ideam but it just didn't feel right at all. A little more time to make controls and physics feel natural would help a ton.

liked the idea, but the controls are very difficult to manage
