Dawn of the Opposable Thumbs by Hatsun

[raw]
made by Hatsun for LD24 (JAM)
Help a tribe of foragers migrate to the shoreline while staying ahead of a hungry tiger. You'll have to juggle two resources (sticks and food), but you can't tell how many of each you have until you ask the foragers.

The four buttons on the right side of the screen control everything: the double green arrow starts a migration(if you have the resources), and the three question mark buttons ask the cavemen about your resources (food, sticks, and time until the cat arrives, respectively)

I made a lot more sprites than I actually needed. Use the source code and sprites however you want!

Unable to run this locally for some reason. Might want to upload it to dropbox or something similar?

Sorry for the technical problems, I'm not that familiar with flash hosting.

Once you understand how to play it's a pretty fun game. Ask the villagers questions and know when to migrate before the dumb cat comes.

Haha it seems like villagers rides the dumb cat and go away with it :-P

Loved the style, and the automated caveman gives it a nice Sim vibe.

Reasonably decent strategy game, but it didn't feel like there was enough of a penalty for losing a forager, and as such it was rather easy to get to the end if you timed your movements right, even after losing a few foragers.

Very cute game. I like the graphics and ask/response system.
