Slimy Things Did Crawl by rhill

This is my entry, made in FlashPunk.

You control a bunch of slimes, and you let them mutate to find the ones that move the way you want them to.

Okay, better explanation, now that I know what people don't understand:
It's about evolving your slimes. They all do different things when you push any of the buttons from A to Z. (Or combinations of buttons) If you get slimes to the flag, then your new slimes will be descended from them. To finish the later, more difficult levels, you need to play the earlier levels with the goal of training certain keys to do the moves you'll need for the difficult levels. For example, when you find a key that makes slimes jump, train them to jump higher. When you find keys that make them move right or left, train them to move faster. This will require that you leave the slower slimes behind.

To be honest, I think there were too many buttons and too many possible behaviours.

This is a really fun game that you've made here. Although I'm not sure (at all) how the breed / mutate sliders work.

Bronze on every level, three gold so far, and still working my way through.

This is a really neat concept. A bit more instruction at the start might have been nice because I struggled to see exactly what I was meant to be doing and for a long time I thought *only* a and z did anything. Perhaps it might have been better with less behaviours but I'm not sure...
Well done!

Well, I resorted to so many buttons because it increased the chances that at least *ONE* of them will sort of do what you want. I've realized since talking to people who played it that they need something to get over the learning curve.

It seemed very well made, but there's way too many buttons and I got frustrated.

Just like Mjig I played for a long while thinking only A and Z do something. I did finish levels 1-3 that way though!

The idea is fun, although it's annoying to get stuck just slamming keys at random, hoping some little slime would find it in himself to spring for the goal.

Best in show! Seriously the amount of complexity and hilarity here is astounding, played for an hour and will play for many more!

I didn't get very far due to a lack of patience, but my son and I really liked it.

I really liked the idea - and would have loved to see lots of this game, but I needed more instruction -

I liked the concept, but the game had little to no instructions. I got 9 bronze and 2 gold medals. It's an original and fun concept, but I think it would have been better to have only 10 keys, because it gets pretty frustrating trying and memorizing such complex patterns.

Um, what am I supposed to do again? What's going on? Maybe I just don't get it.

The controls were very confusing but was an interesting concept.

Fun idea, I was able to get some of the behaviors I wanted to evolve. Some of those later levels were too hard for me.

Oh and: extra points for referencing Coleridge.

Wonderful concept! This is one of my favourite games of those I've played so far. It took a while to get the hang of it but it seems like there's a lot of depth. I eventually managed to get a team that could get bronze on every level, but some of the golds seem really tough.

This is one of the best uses of the theme I've seen yet. It was a little frustrating, but overall very cool. I managed to get bronze on all the levels, and gold on at least 5 or 6 before I stopped playing.

Good fun. I do like games with a working evolution model.
