Green War by MDK_Marshal
Both a lumberjack simulator and a hippie murdering simulator! Two games in one!
You are a savvy businessman/evil villain/tree hater, and you have need of a car park. However, there's a rainforest in the way, along with a bunch of hippies.
Slay the hippies, chop down the trees, and make space for your car park!
Compatibility notes: This is a HTML5/javascript game, using a smattering of JQuery. This means you'll need a HTML5 compatible browser (Chrome, Firefox, new IE versions(?)), and an internet connection (to include JQuery, I didn't want to bundle it).
I am aware of a couple of odd issues with the score bar wandering off, but I've been unable to replicate this. I think it's tied to something in Windows 8.
Also, I can't quite get dropbox to play nice with a simple HTML link, so it's all been dumped into a zip file. Sorry about that.

I like how it works like a cellular automata.

Can't you just put it online? Having to download an html5 game is bad

I'm a sucker for cellular automata / emergent systems like this, it was fun just to interact with the trees and hack up some hippies :D Did find the controls a bit RSI inducing though - I don't think I could play it for long. It also wasn't obvious how close to winning / losing I was, so it could have been a little more satisfying if that was conveyed across. A nice take on the theme!

Didn't have much to actually play, would have been nice if the graphics were a bit more clear on what was going on and there was obvious effect to the leveling and stats at the top, they seemed to do nothing.

Don't let the seemingly unsophisticated simplicity fool you, this one is addictively fun.
