Zomble Hunter Deluxe by odrega

[raw]
made by odrega for LD25 (COMPO)
Yay, my second Ludum Dare

Gameplay:
You are a zombie, and you walk really slowly, and are really vulnerable. However, you do have the ability to go into an all out rage, and charge towards the enemies (by left clicking).

You want to eat the humans (to get some score) and destroy the blue guards. Watch out for heroes!

Note: Source is in Flash cs3 format.

Cool game, with more difficulty than expected. But maybe it's a little too random, because when you have several blue guy on screen, it's the end.

Nice job creating a playable game. I really felt slow and vulnerable as a zombie. Although, it wasn't very apparent how to use the special charging ability.

A demo screen or 5 second tutorial would have helped make this immediately playable, though the learning curve isn't that steep.

It's not immediately apparent that heroes are different than people to those that haven't read the directions. If there was some obstacles it could be a bit more interesting as the guards have a tendency of backing you into the corner if you run out of charge. A little more graphical feedback or sound to let the player know what is going on would be helpful.

Interesting idea but it seemed really buggy to me. The framerate was really inconsistent - the action would speed up randomly at times. I was a bit confused about when I was raging and when I was vulnerable too.

I sort of like the charging aspect. Too easy for blue guys to gang-up on you. Controls didn't feel right. I'd have either had the zombie follow the mouse pointer and charging when it was clicked or had a charge key on the keyboard.

Good Feedback.

@cosmologician:
I made this in Flash, which only has a preset frame limiter, which is pretty constricting.

Interesting game. I really liked it, was confused at first. But after a few games it became clearer.
