Park to Park by Frozen Fractal

[raw]
made by Frozen Fractal for LD25 (COMPO)
Surround areas with tape to pave them over, but don't let the goats and hippies get near the tape! For more points, pave over large areas at once, and try to trap the pests.

A browser game written in CoffeeScript using HTML5 canvas, audio and local storage. A recent browser is required. The game works best in Chrome, but also works well in Firefox, Safari and even Internet Explorer. Opera users may experience problems, sorry!

Very rarely, a goat or hippie will walk off the screen to get a bite to eat. This is totally a feature. All this running around in a park makes them hungry, you know.

Yes this is Qix but with goats, and I like both so this was fun.

From the games I've played so far, this is definitely my favorite and I've replayed it several times since first seeing it on IRC. Your take on the theme is original and the music and graphics fits perfectly.

Great work! :)

I agree with the other comments. Very nice adaption of Qix to the theme. I really dig the clean graphic style. What I personally like most though, is the name :) Well done! Oh, and thanks for your nice comment on my game. Glad you liked it. I will try the control scheme option you suggested.

Ah, nice little gem here, very relaxing. Let's do some analysis.

Bad:
-The levels don't have much variation in the end other than more enemies. (Which makes me think you should make a post-compo where the player can define how many enemies to spawn so that they can play against however many their computer can stand.)
-The fonts could use some work.

Good:
+Like I said, nice and relaxing experience.
+Graphics are nice and clean.
+Funny story and title.

Great name/concept and adaptation. The music is a bit glitchy when you move though.

Cool Qix/Jezzball style game. I had a bug where a hippie ran off the side of the level on level 3. Other than that, well done!

Awesome game! I remember playing Jezzball a lot as a kid, and this harkens back to that while still applying a lot of originality and pizzazz.

Great use of the theme and a wonderful presentation! :D
