post entry?
in the post entry i fixed a bug that prevented the game from being played twice(without exit)
i also made scrap give you more heath
ludum allows minor fixes to the game so are these qualifiable? (if not just vote on the first link)
this is my first ludum dare entry
the goal of the game is to follow the planets(the way you ship is facing(pointed end)) you get points for killing ships when you get to the end of the planets you have to kill the boss (with red heath) to destroy everything

run the game:
download file and unzip
run jar
enjoy :)

controls:
mouse to aim
w to move towards mouse
s to move away from mouse
escape to pause

The controls are so awkward. And the inability to fire in all direction is terrible, and unnecessarily difficult. The spawn point makes it hard to get started without dying.

If you lose and start a new game, your HP is still 0.

I think I see where you were going with this but unfortunately it needs a lot more work.

This is a good start, but as others have said, it needs some work to make it really playable. Being able to move in multiple directions would be a start, or being able to move in a different direction than you're facing. A more interesting AI would also help, and maybe more variety- maybe give the planets gravity, and taking over a planet gives you more resources? Just some ideas, but the fact that I played it and thought "now what if this game had this in it?" is a good sign that you're on the right track!

By the way, if you want a better host than mediafire (with its awful spam advertisements and popups), you might check out the free Java hosting I offer at http://StaticVoidGames.com. Either way, happy coding!
