Mad Scientist:
When equipped to a lab scientists work to research upgrades to your building and personel. These upgrades are then added to your purchase menu

Thief:
When equipped to a warehouse thieves will go stealing and add stolen goods to that warehouse.

Hired Muscle:
Hired muscles can be assigned to either labs or warehouses. They defend it by fighting invaders. They lose if the cumulative power of the muscle on the floor is less than the invading hero.

Policeman:
Policemen go to a random warehouse floor. If they are successful they will arrest all criminals on that floor and empty it of loot.

Superhero
Superheroes go to a random laboratory floor. If they are successful they will arrest all criminals on that floor and disable the floor.

The Yard:
The yard is where new random recruits come and wait. You may assign them to a floor from here. If you don't they will eventually wander off. Heroes will go through here so you will be able to know what kind of hero is coming.

Warehouse:
Theives add loot to your warehouse when equipped. This accumulates and at any point you may cash it in by fencing the goods. However while fencing goods your thieves can't steal and any thieves out stealing will return to help.

Laboratory:
You equip scientists to labs where they research upgrades to your buildings. When their research is finished it is added to your store where you can purchase it.

it looks good and it's a potentially fun premise; but as-is, it's just dull. all i really do is watch numbers go up and click a button when i can afford something. i hope you expand on it after judging is over and make it into something really fun.

I like the characters and the rooms aesthetic.
But I wasn't able to make any upgrade in the lab, then I'm not sure of the real potential of the game.

Thanks for the feedback. We are working on finishing it to the point of matching the description we described. I'm hoping to be able to post it before or early this weekend for people to check out. We are also considering creating a more advanced version with a ton more room types and character types and a more interesting upgrade system.
