Dr. Maleficent's Doom-Ray by pelton
Blast! The damned Superfriends have stolen your Doom-Ray! You must get it back!
You play as the evil Dr. Maleficent as he attempts to recover his stolen weapon. Sneak into the complex, avoiding guards, and then blast your way out once you have your sweaty hands on your precious laser. Good luck!
Tony and I created this game from scratch using C++, SDL, and OpenGL. One really feels the time pressure when you have to program the game engine as well. There's definitely some bugs here and there, the art could be better, and the "guards" are not much more than lobotomized superheros: they have x-ray vision and can walk through walls, but are as dumb as bricks.
All art made using GIMP
Sound effects created with Bfxr
The music loops are from Partners in Rhyme
Known bugs:
* On Windows, the game crashes on exit.
* The guards are idiots.

Turns out zip files don't preserve file permissions. You can chmod +x the binary and/or download the new tarball.
