Sculpt Master by LimeniusTeam

[raw]
made by LimeniusTeam for LD35 (JAM)
* Controls: you only need the mouse movement and left click.
* Instructions: shape the purple figure to look like the cyan model.

-------------------

How good is your spatial imagination? What about your memory? You will need those if you want to become a Sculpt Master.

You will have to turn a boring cube into a complex figure, using your polymorphic and shifting tool. Pay attention at the beginning of each level, memorizing those shifts will help!

Enjoy!

Awesome puzzle game, it took me while to understand it, but then I got to the fifth level without getting it wrong, cool game!

I really liked this game !

The concept is very innovative and it was very fun to play. It had a good game feel and all, too bad it was so short. Good difficulty peaks.

The art is simple and clean : no display problem or big pixels. The different displayed colour match each other pretty well. Those minimalist graphics might be a little dull sometimes, but I like it.

A music could have made it a little better.

The "pluses" and "minuses" are sometimes a little off-centered.

You're a little lost at the beginning (at least I was). A first scene where you can fiddle around could have been a good idea. You feel stupid when you lost half your lives on the first level.

Maybe add a little period of time before you can place shapes to understand what is happening. The hardest is always using the first shape, because you have to plan out all the other shapes. The following placements are easy.

But those are minor details.

Well-done !

It will be nice telling us wich are the controllers. I've just find the mouse click use and didn't understand how it works... But it runs! That's a good point.

Ok, i would suggest putting some instructions in the description so dummy's like me can work out whats going on quicker. Very cool idea once i finally figured it out!

Okay I got to level 7, and then I got a little crazy haha. It took me a while to get it, but once you do it's addictive. Definitely a very fun game!!

The lack of instructions held the game back a little, but once the learning curve had passed, it was a fun little puzzle game and had me going through the levels again until I completed it.

Nice work.

Great Game. It took me a little time to understand but the instruction were after all clear enough and the carving/modeling is just a great Idea. The only thing I regret is the lack of a little ambient music and a restart button on game over. Good job !

Loved it.

The sound effects fit perfectly.

The interface is innovative and works. Maybe this was what I liked most.

Just miss having a way to select a level. I don't like having to play six levels just to retry level 7 :/

Amazing work.

Kudos

It's an awesome concept and It's fun but It was hard to figure out what to do.

A small tutorial would make me instantly rate this higher! Really innovative =)

Having lives is needless and means I would need to repeat a lot. Very enjoyable otherwise.

At first I was a bit overwhelmed, but after I got what was going on I really enjoyed this!! Having a game over state is a bit cruel, and I wish I got infinite tries. Very nice puzzle tho!!

This was fun. It took a few goes to understand how the clock worked and what it meant. Once I understood that, there was a cool few levels of playing. I typically don't like lives in puzzle style games, though.

Could definitely use a bit of polish, but a really unique idea once you get the hang of it!

Awesome idea!
I did miss some more further instructions and I don't think having lives/tries to retry is a good idea. The timer alone is punitive enough.
Really good entry!
Polish it and launch for mobile. ;)

Thank you all for the comments! :)

Regarding the two negative points that you mention more frequently:
- The absence of more explicit instructions at the beginning was kind of "intentioned". The game is short and levels are fairly simple. Having to figure out level 1 just with the instruction "Shape it" wanted to be part of the puzzle game. But probably it wouldn't harm to be a bit more explicit. :)
- Regarding the lives: yeap, totally agree. This was a last minute addition, also to make it a bit more complete / difficult; but they don't bring much to this kind of game. As soon as we added more levels, they would be definitely removed.

Thanks again to everyone! :)

This is an awesome action puzzle game. Very good job, super impressive! The concept is neat, probably the best fit for the theme that I've seen so far. It's difficult, but fun. The sounds are charming.

Great game! Finally completed the last level :)

I'd have preferred having the possibility to switch between shapes and tool modes. That would have improved the feeling of being a scultptor. But I understand how it might have been difficult to keep things simple (especially for mobile purposes).

Besides that, it's a cool puzzle game I really enjoyed to play with. Well done !!

Neat idea for a game. I think making it time based limits the number of people that will enjoy it. Limiting number of actions would of worked better I feel.
