Morpherhead by kostasvs

[raw]
made by kostasvs for LD35 (JAM)
You have a weird ability: you can reform your head at will.
You can also cut the formed pieces off.

Use these abilities to traverse obstacles and dangerous environments.

Only a short stage in this version, hopefully will make more and design more varied traps and environments if people like the idea.

Very original idea, I liked it, lacked music, but was fun overall.

The linux link failed because there is no data folder. Copying the data folder from the windows archive is not enough to make it work.

That said, wine work on the windows executable. A very inovative point of view on shapeshipting, I love it!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, it is really appreciated!

Linux build is indeed messed up, I am really sorry! This build should work:

once i jump/move in the linux build my character won't stop running/jumping and i have to tab in/out to fix it. the head mechanic works fine though. this is a nice and innovative concept and i hope you keep improving and building more levels for it. and the eyes are a nice touch

@xandy I am really sorry about the linux issues, I didn't have time to test the game on linux!

I didn't get this problem on my (virtualboxed) Ubuntu, however I uploaded another version of the game which just might fix your controls issue (uses GetAxisRaw instead of GetAxis). Otherwise I will need more info to pinpoint the problem, or perhaps update my Unity (maybe 5.4beta has better linux support).

Really fun mechanic that works surprisingly well and must have been tricky to get to work! Really good job, totally original and I liked the presentation too. I did find the jumping controls a little bit tricky and ended up doing an extra jump a few times unintentionally.

Wow, this game is really innovating! Really great idea and fun to play! There's lot's of potential humor here as well with the shapes you can create lol. Great work! Oh and the graphics are good as well. Needs sounds and music though!

Awesome game! This takes the shapeshifting theme to a new level! Very innovative. I appreciate the lovely mesh manipulation/cutting techniques you used for the head growing/cutting. Well done!

Awesome shapeshift theme. I was really amused when I realised how to get up to the high platforms the first time. Great, would be cool to see the concept evolve!

Awesome idea and a really unique twist on the theme. I think I had some issues as I needed to be kinda 2 inches off to the left of where I wanted to be clicking, which made it a bit tricky to play! But I could definitely see a great idea shining through!
