(To be honest I recommend you watch the Story mode video rather than play it ;-; *i'm sorry* it seems buggy to most people)

Controls are (Up Down Left Right) and Escape is to get out of the current game.

All of the things you see were done within the 48 hours.

Second time competing in LD48, tried to put in as much as possible!

Sorry if the game mechanics feel clunky, I'm a really horrible programmer. >_<

Also if you get frustrated with the storymode please try to play the game mode, it's much better! (I think... >_<)

Cute. You were right that the game mode was a lot more fun than the story mode, haha. Having to press enter while you're trying to play was very distracting.

Sometimes the game spawns clusters of people you can't just avoid. But to think of it, so does my game :)

Great graphics and good game play. Once the initial group of people were done there were only sporadic encounters making the game quite boring and easy.

Very pretty game, but unfortunately there's a bug where after a while there are no more enemies, in chrome on linux it is rather soon.

The pacing in the story mode could've been much better, and the game lacks some audio in the background, but man...

Those adorable animations are making up for it nicely :)

Deeeeaaan! Love the graphics! Animations are beautiful, and I love the little heart meter <3 This is cute. I wanted to get the girl, but playing with the cutscenes just takes too long, gets frustrating when you suck at games like me.

Really great looking game. Love the smooth animation and style of the game world. Nice twist on Infinite Runner style gameplay. I did find one issue - when I played story mode, or game mode and got past ~300, no more enemies would spawn. Other than that, great work!

This is a really lovely entry. I was sad that the story mode just suddenly turned into an endless walk... was that intended? Game mode was innovative in the sense that the danger was not you being killed by an obstacle, but rather that you want to avoiding killing them.

I killed a little girl with a balloon... It was an accident!

The graphics are lovely. The game mode was a lot better than the story mode, since that seemed to take ages to get started. It would have been nice with some audio, since you can definitely feel that it's missing.

Too bad for the game. Around 400, nobody spawned so I could let the little guy running forever and ever without meeting anyone.

(oh, I was sure your graphic style felt familiar, I remember you from Limit. No wonder the animations are so great)

It bugged out on me as well, but I watched the video.

Gameplay: fine for what it is, but I feel like better hitboxes/more refined controls are in order to make it properly fun.

Story: that is really excellent use of gameplay/story integration! it gets a bit clunky waiting for the text to come up and then cycling through it slowly, but the way the story gives your actions varying context and goals that directly relate to the meaning of the mechanic is handled really well. Excellent job! I just wish it ran p_p

I liked the concept and art a lot but i got the "nothing to do here" bug very early on both modes unfortunately - please fix that after the judging ends, i'd like to give this one another try in a more complete form

Nice and cute graphics, would have been nice with some audio.
Story mode had way too many "Press Space or Enter" moments but other than that it was good.

It looks gorgeous, you did a great job on the visuals. I'm very envious of your spriting skills.

Unfortunately, it's buggy on my machine (Chromium, Ubuntu). During the story mode, it seems to get stuck and in game mode, they stop spawning.

Thanks for the video, I'm glad I got to watch the story to the end. :)

Love the Dean sprite! Very cute and well-animated :D The graphics set a nice mood but having to press Enter almost felt like pausing/interrupting the game. Great job!

I liked the game. Some details could be added, like a font type in text skip ("Press Space or Enter") similar of a menu font type. But, in Overall it's a great game, i love the art style.

The sappiness and cuteness of this game overwhelmed me! I couldn't handle it! Beautiful pattern and artwork! The story was a bit cliche but it got interesting. Especially near the end!

I got stuck after I was told to kill 100 old men, do I really have to do that? I ended up just watching the vid :P

Needed some sort of audio, but the story and art felt more than enough for me.

I really liked the graphics style, and the "la la la, I'm a cute little boy WITH THE TOUCH OF DEATH" was a cute twist.

Story mode is not working. After "he avoided as much as possible", nothing else happens. Game mode was a bit hard.

I liked the idea, hope you iron out the rest of the game :-)

Really beautiful graphics. I think the story mode might be bugged though: after the intro I came across one person, then absolutely no-one else (left it running for a good few minutes). Game mode seems to work fine.

The game is a bit classic in the gameplay but the controls responds well and it's quite challenging on some obstacles. But I can't figure out why old ladies want to kill you... It's a bit strange :) I think the game is not finished surely because you focused so much on the graphics and the animation (superb) that you forget the core gameplay.

I felt this was more of an animated story, player input felt it had little to do with it, and it just sort of played out on it's own, at a slow pace.

At a certain point no more enemies appeared in story mode. I tried game mode and it's a cool idea. Amazing art btw, the bugs are expected and can be fixed but what's there at the moment is amazing ;).

I love the story, starts off fun then gets sad, then gets really evil and then sad again. Ran into a bug where the enemies stopped appearing and then nothing happened. Great Job!!!

Really cool concept. I wish there was a way to heal your character, like in the story mode. Maybe have a pet dog that will appear every once in a while that you need to survive, but could kill off if you get too close.

Wow... that's a heartbreaker. Very original set-up, and as for the graphics: this is the first game in this compo I've given a solid 5-star ranking for graphics. I particularly love the balloon girl, and how the balloon bursts when Dean... does his thing.

Unfortunately, I can't give this game a very high Overall score, since it seems to be unfinished: Story Mode has no other sprites, and Game Mode just runs out of sprites after a while.

I really hope you keep developing this game after the compo. The graphics and mood in this piece are amazing.

I watched the video of your story mode, but it didn't match my gameplay. In both game and story mode, obstacles just stopped showing up after a little while and I could walk forever. FF 20, Linux.

Wow, top score on graphics. Lovely animation, and an entertaining story. Poor Dean. After 290 points I stopped encountering people btw. Would love to see more of this, with harder levels and perhaps new kinds of people. Once again, them animations were splendid!

Interesting graphic style, and in greyscale. The people with balloons were especially difficult to avoid sometimes. Great story idea.
