made by MrBoxBox for LD35 (JAM)
You are Count Spoopy, the boogie terror of the night. Use your abilities to gain evil followers on your quest to get back your groove from the king!

So yeah erhm... this is my very first gamejam. I really liked how this turned out and was actually thinking of expanding on this by adding levels, ironing out bugs and adding more polish in general. Hope you enjoy it. don't forget to rate and comment!

Neat game. I liked the shapeshifting mechanic you got going here, and there were some fun and challenging puzzle aspects. I had to work a couple of times the first time the three guards popped up. Graphics were quite nice and pixelated as well. Some polish and more levels and you'd have a nice little game.

Groovy! I loved the level designs and the gameplay, plus the mechanic of dealing with a whole room of enemies without getting too much damage by strategically converting and then mobbing was hilariously fun. Excellent job!

Shapeshifting worked well in this game, I also enjoyed creating an army of undead to do my bidding. It would be good if transforming next to a wall pushed you away from the wall, instead of doing nothing.

This game was very very good. It could have been even better but for a few gripes.
-The start menu was so so fun with the dancing vampires and music, and then the actual game had very little to do with being a dancing vampire? (the concept seemed inconsistent and I felt like I'd had the wrong thing advertised to me at the start)
-I didn't see why I would want to do anything except become the bat and then fly through the whole level as quickly as possible. Fighting the enemies seemed pointless? Would be good to give the player a reason to play the level out slowly, maybe limit how much you're allowed to be the bat?
-The fighting was a bit hard as all the enemies shot at you pretty fast. Would have been good to have different kinds of enemies with some easier ones to begin with.

Other than these things I have a lot of good things to say for this game:
-Absolutely wonderful art. The animations were fantastic, the attack animation felt really punchy
-Marvellously fun music.
-The overall feel reminded me of some of my favourites from the Master System era, games like Alex the Kid and Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse.

Wow, amazing game, liked the shapeshifting mechanics, how you have to avoid bullets, and shapeshift people. Level of difficulty is very good, so it's a sound. Excellent game design. However, gameplay seems to be a bit repetitive, you might wanna introduce more enemy kinds. And may be also power ups, or sort of development mechanics.

Well done. Good pixels and mechanics. The only problem I noticed was that if you had a mind to, you can just fly through the levels as the bat, barely getting hit if at all. Give the player some incentive to turn people into vamps. Maybe the points you get can buy a new ability or you need to turn so many before you can get the key to the next area or something. Great job overall!

Yeah, I like this! Great going for a first game jam - the mechanic is neat, and the game has a fun tone to it. The "all progress will be lost" on death is a bit of a killer tho in terms of keeping me playing!
