Zen Garden by ssshepherd

[raw]
made by ssshepherd for LD26 (JAM)
My goal was to take the player to a tranquil garden to learn a few things about Zen meditation. Meditation means minimalizing clutter of the mind, and thus the deepest form of minimalism ;)

I have represented two types of games, one is the Koan, represented in five sets of stacked stones. These stories and questions are essentially unsolvable intended to give the mind focus and the ability to expand beyond conventional thinking. Second are a few suggestions for meditation exercises, including the Mandala Labyrinth. Each of these are represented by seven Stone Pagodas. Once all have been visited the level ends.

I'm going to continue working on this, I got started late :( but wanted to give it a shot anyway, and it's still buggy. Feedback would be awesome!! This is my first solo jam, usually work with a couple programmers, and I'm just an artist floundering in the land of Play Maker and Unity. But it was awesome fun trying, thanks!!!

Very pretty. I love how you can jump off mountains and slowly float down to the ground.

Very pretty. And I like the design decisions you made. A lot of the mechanics are really in tune with what you were trying to convey. And I love how floaty the controls feel.
