Pinokio and Juliet 2113 by kibertoad
You are a synthetic android who fell in love with a real woman. In order to get closer to her you have decided to reshape yourself and become as real as a synthetic android possibly can. To pay for your new "skin" you participate in underground fighting tournament.
"Pinokio & Juliet: 2113" is a tactical turn-based free-choice fighting game about love.
Gameplay consists of 10 second-long planning phases after which selected combat moves get executed.
Note: Game can take a while to load, please wait after you get blank screen after start.
Note: Press F12 during fight to toggle fullscreen mode (not on main menu, though)
Note: When played on computer with 768 resolution height, there may be some button clicking issues, using fullscreen should help.
Note: build, updated for compatibility with 32 and 64 bit OS'es was uploaded.
On Mac and Linux, you must have Java 7 installed for the included run.sh file to work.

Reminds me of Fallout 3 when you stop the game to chose where to shoot :P
A great way to improve the learning curve of the game is to adding actions as you progress, starting maybe with just 3 or 4 basic well-explained moves, since it's not fun to read the 101 images you included (and remember them!).
Keep up the good work! Great ideas and potential here.
I think lesser options would be better or that you gain new attack styles after battles, so you can get used to the masses of attacks available here.
Reminds me of Battle Angel Alita. Very cool atmosphere.
Please let me know if anything explodes.
Thumbs up for the voice acting and the twist at the end :D

PS : Thanks for your feedback on Guruguru for firefox it's playable on FF now ! :)
Other than the confusing controls, the story and concept are thoughtful.
I only tested the jam version though, so maybe you upgraded it in the post-jam :P
As others have said, this is a really cool, innovative fighting system that is hurt by having ten second rounds. Particularly since you can fill up your queue of attacks very quickly and spend most of that time waiting.
My other complaint is that the game just didn't seem to work very well for me - it took so long to load I thought it had crashed and there were huge pauses near the beginning of each level which were distracting.
The graphics, mood, audio and innovation are all excellent! This was overall a very unique and cool entry! My biggest disappointment came when I lost, because the only option was to quit, and I wanted to keep playing!
about skill "overwhelmness" and unclear gameplay: we planned to do it gradually, as many of you said - you start with few skills and get new ones with level ups/perks, but there was no time to do it properly so we made all skills available from the start. it made the game less tactical (as was intended in the beginning) and made it more intuitive, but hey, it is a fighting game after all, so you better think fast ;) and well, maybe one day we will do it right.
thank you for playing!
