Backstep by ShiverGaming

[raw]
made by ShiverGaming for LD27 (JAM)
A simple little game, made in 48h (no Sunday). It isn't very much; I was overambitious.

The basic story is that you find yourself on an alien planet, equipped only with a so-called "Temporal Backstep Device", which lets you jump 10 seconds back in time. An alien starship welcomes you to the planet, tells you about the TBD, asks you to explore, then proceeds to run tests on you.

Controls
---------
W - Forward
A - Left
S - Backwards
D - Right
Space - Jump
ESC - Unlock cursor
T - Timejump

I used several built-in Unity assets and scripts, along with some code from my Ludum Dare previous coding endeavor (MiniLD #48: Dreamscape).

HINT (if you get stuck)
-----------------------

How might you have gotten onto this planet? How might the TBD help you get off?

The ability to jump back 10 seconds is a great concept. I also like the "twist" which leads you to the alien spaceship (thanks for the hint, by the way). Too bad there is so little content.

Nice idea, sort of reminding me of a game I made (with my personal account, not this team one) where I had exploration followed with a maze. Nicely done, too bad you did not manage to make it feel a bit more "complete". Kudos anyway!

Pretty incomplete, left me wanting for more. Jumping to ten seconds back in time was a pretty good use of the theme, this can be expanded out in so many versatile ways and awesome puzzle mechanisms.

Cool stuff, the inside of that spaceship looked really creepy.
I once got there and was stuck in a closed room. Is the maze randomly generated? If it is, maybe you didn't check for dead ends in the maze...

I couldn't really work out what I was meant to do. Jumping was fun, though. Wheeeeeeee~

I really like the idea of being able to step back in 10 second intervals. Nicely done! BTW how did you implement stepping back in time like that in Unity?
