Alone with Fear by tjxx

[raw]
made by tjxx for LD35 (COMPO)
"Alone with Fear" is my submission for Ludum Dare 35. The objective is simple: to reach the destination without dying. You bring with you the ability to morph into one of 3 different vehicle types, each of which can assist you with every new obstacle that blocks your path.

Game controls:
Up/Down/Left/Right - Move
C - Car Mode
H - Helicopter Mode
S - Submarine Mode
F - Fire Bullets

Note:
This is very unfinished, sad to say. Gameplay is not yet fully implemented, and the collisions and enemy combat are still very lacking and buggy in certain (obvious) areas. I'm still proud of what I was able to create anyways and that's why I am submitting an incomplete game. I plan on updating the game in the meantime throughout the next week or so.

It was a really fun game, but too small.

What are the square green guys? Once I found out they didn't hurt I spent most of my time trying to herd them to the finish. Solid game, though!

Yep, very short, but a good start. If you decide to continue work on it, I think it could be a good game.

Yes, the game is very short at the moment. I will be working on finishing it up in the meantime and plan on uploading a complete working version of this after judging ends.

The square green guys are just chilling at the moment and do not do anything yet. They were meant to, and eventually will be enemies that the player will fight off.

I appreciate the feedback! :)

Really good game, the camera could use some work (no idea what though, i just felt a bit disorientated). Great look to it though, its all shiney and nice which helps getting immersed in the puzzle

I liked the helicopter movement a lot. You've got a good foundation.

Hi, nice game ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #35.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description

Too short to judge this really, but controls work well and the idea is good. Off to a reasonable start!

Very cool idea. I wasn't sure if I was to push the slime monster to the exit or avoid him, but either works:) The snake thing was annoying, but the submarine saves the day. I think there's a lot of potential here, although you might need to add some bits, for example, why would I choose the car over the helicopter? Oh maybe it has a better weapon or something.

Good stuff!

Thanks, I appreciate the positive feedback! Yes, in this version of the game a lot of things are either unnecessary or non-functioning, including the snake which is unfortunate. It is still under active development and I have improved the game play in a number of areas already. I will be posting an up to date, and working version of the game here -> http://www.indiexpo.net/en/games/alone-with-fear. There is more to come. :)
