I remembered seeing all your posts on this game and instantly falling in love with the idea, graphics, and how it completed. Of course there were some things missing xD but it was cool overall, especially the mood, idea, and graphics. Work on Post-Compo I want to see it finished!

A bug I noticed was that I selected Triangle but in the battle text it said "Your Hexagon"

Wow, made with C? Shiieeet! You're talented!
Gonna bookmark you for the next compo!

Otherwise, great graphics on this non pokemon clone ;)

If only it had a soundtrack! I would have scored you really high on the mood in that case!

Hope you had fun making it =)

Like the other two already said music and sounds would have been really nice. Well anyways: 5/5 Theme :D

Really cool! Substitute seems to do the same thing as escape, and my transmog was refered to as whatever transmog i was fighting though. picked line, it said square if i was fighting a square.

I don't know...this seems an awful lot like a pokemon clone. I think you might be lying.

I like the style, defiantly needed sounds.

What a game! This is really cool, it could do with some sounds and music though. I'm gonna download that engine and give it a look :D

Nice entry, but sound + music would make a huge difference! Good job

Nice to see someone else going for a Game Boy style game :D (mine is too, and the graphics were also inspired by Pokemon, and Zelda). You did a fine job especially for it being programmed in C ;)

Very cool throwback, very full featured.

It was a bit hard to tell which attacks were good and when they were good so I ended up just mashing x and then dying after a while... that's probably more me than the game though.

I love the style to death, and I just really really wish the combat had been deeper. Maybe that's a lot to ask for two days of work, but I'd have played it for a lot longer if it had been a little more fleshed out. That said I love the concept a lot.

The pixel art was cute!! It looked just like a Pokémon R/B. I couldn't figure out how the combat was supposed to work, sadly. And I was able to beat the game by skipping to the final boss. You can easily run from every battle without any sort of drawback.

I also uploaded a video of your game on YouTube!
