So I can either do that, repeatedly trying to gain at most 1-2 seconds, or I can attempt to figure out what to do to "pass". But, on such a tiny time limit, it's not intuitive; it's trial and error, with no time to experiment. That's especially bad because the failure condition not only doesn't leave any chance to retry, but it takes you to another seemingly arbitrary level. So in terms of design, it doesn't work.
