Shape Through by Ropiet

Shape Through is a simples endless game, inspired on super hexagon.
You are a rectangle and there is a black-hole-planet above your feet. Rectangular blocks come from the borders of the screen in the direction of the center of the planet, you need to dodge them all while the planet keep changing size and the blocks getting faster. How long can you survive?

Controls:
Space - switch your width with your height
Left and right arrows - movement
Enter - Starts/Pauses game

No graphical asset was used, only primitives.
I made the music and the only sound effect the game has.
There is still a lot of balance left to do, I spent a lot of time with the collision calculation. Rotated rectangles were harder than I thought.

Man, the difficulty level really ramps up fast.

I really liked the music and really wanted to hear where it was going, but died every time it felt like the music was getting really good.

A checkpoint system or a more gradual ramp up of the difficulty would be great additions.

Overall it was fun and the visual effects were nice, though a limit on the brightness of some colors might be nice, it hit a really bright red and green a few times that actually hurt my eyes a bit while playing.

Yeah, I'm really bad with graphics, since I was trying compo I restrained from getting something from the net.

I know right =). Spent too much time on the collision and on the patterns of the blocks, still a lot of balancing too do. Thank you for your feedback.
I'm glad you liked the music, it was my first experience mixing something.

Very good. A think that probably will improve this game is that the shapes come at the rhythm of the music.
