10 Seconds to Clear by Foxtacy
Hi everyone
This is my entry for LD27, 10 Seconds to Clear
You must clear the screen in every stage in 10 seconds by clicking, and typing.
Feedbacks and comments are very welcome! :)
Big Thanks to Palada-san (from CogMonkeys) for the help with the art! :D

- Web version seems "laggy"
Improvements that will be made:
- Countdown or pause before starting
- Improve graphics.
Nice game though!
I once managed to win and lose at the same time. That seemed kinda buggy...
If you add more levels though you can change it so you just keep track of how many times they failed, and completing the game with the lowest amount of failures is the goal. That way we wouldn'thave to restart. Or maybe just have check points. Another thing is, you can't actually type when the sign says go. You have to wait until it disappears. I also came across the won and lost at the same time bug.
And of course, i won't >Punish< the player so much on this new version :)
Thanks for your review! i'm going to take time to review your submission now :)
Thanks for your review
Well, seems like i failed. I wanted to keep the player psyched, not pressured :C oh bummer.
@zedutchgandalf
You were not the first to notice this. Thanks for pointing that out :) i'll try to fix that.
Also tried to correct the win/lose screen showing at the same time. Can someone try to replicate this bug? Thanks!
Yeah i'm aware of that, actually i'm not much of a 2d artist myself but anyways, yep i should have made the buttons on a higher resolution.
And yes, the characters are being drawn by font! what made you think that they weren't? =o
Thanks by the review!
Yes, a mouse is recommended to play this :)
Thanks for your review :)
Some of the mouse bits were really evil. Thank you for making this. :)
Yep, it's my original composition! You can get it here:

@Feyleaf
My day, is done! THANK YOU good sir! THANK YOU! ^_^
The music intensifies the tension and pressure vibe =)
I think that a graphic improvement would be great! (I know how sucks do 2D on Unity, pretty hard keep the sprites quality/scale).
Need skillz.
Like the sounds to.
@Raiyumi Thanks :)
@kirbytails7 Thank you, and i thought i hadn't thought well about that. hahaha :)
But when a game requires you to use both hands on the keyboard and then asks you to click on something on screen it certainly breaks the experience a bit. It takes you out of the immersion as it forces you to take one hand out of the keyboard to reach the mouse, locate the cursor on screen and perform the required action and then back to the keyboard.
That's a mistake I've seen an AWFUL lot in LD entries over the years.
If a game mixes keyboard and mouse input it should be done in such a way that both devices can be comfortably operated with one hand each.
Since your game requires the player to do some fast typing it hardly can be played with just one hand on the keyboard. You would be "wasting" the other hand on the mouse waiting for the occasional mouse input.
Having said that... in your game at least it helps to increase the tension. It doesn't feel broken but you should be careful when designing the control scheme for your games so it doesn't require to swap devices or reach for other things in the middle of the game ;)
Very very challenging!
Awesome job but I'm really terrible at this :c
I featured this game in my LD27 compilation video series, if you'd like to check it out :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvnhwc_j5Mo
Thank you VERY much! :)
I mean, whoa. i never thought i'd end up on a youtube show like this! :'D
