I would check to see if your Java is up to date. that output appears to be a problem with how the game is loading the images. I am not sure how I would go about fixing that without having to do a complete rewrite of the image loading and that would require changing how I manage the images. Out of curiosity, what is your OS and Java version?
Is it normal that the letters also change the color?
