HOMELESS the Game by Azazel
Your name is Lestor, and you've had a rough life.
After getting your girlfriend pregnant, you dropped out of highschool, got married and took a construction job to support the baby. But, like most marriages, yours was doomed.
You lead a relatively quiet life of manual labor, moderate alcohol use and the occasional visit to church, until one day you get a call from the police and learn that your wife and child have been killed in a car accident. You spiral into a deep depression, nursing your wounds with drugs and alcohol.
Months turn into years and habits turn into addictions.
You are old and broken. You have no physical or mental capacity to work, no insurance, no surviving relatives and no home.
Nothing, but a styrofoam cup.

Homeless is a death game. You die after about 40 seconds and there's nothing you can do about it.
In order to complete Homeless for the 48 hour challenge many shortcuts were taken. Features were stripped, sound was left out, graphics are undone, and there's a weird bug that makes the single level look random (so that's cool for now I guess).
I plan to continue developing Homeless. I want to improve the art (though I will be sticking with old-school pixel art), add more levels, make it cross platform, make a winning scenario and most of all, make it longer than 40 seconds.

There doesn't seem to be that much gameplay, but it could have become more interesting with more development time.
