Adolf by mennchen22

[raw]
made by mennchen22 for LD35 (JAM)
This game is our first Ludum Dare together. We tried to make a funny game with hard levels (we really only have one Level though). It includes spikes which really hurt and time based power ups. Feel free to leave a comment, especially if you're able to finish the game (#HardcoreGamer).

All known Bugs are fixed (a big thanks to our beta testers <3) but don't hesitate to send us a message if you find another one.

The grammatical and spelling mistakes in the game are on purpose btw. We thought it could be funny....

All textures and sounds are selfmade except for some tiles :

Rubber Duck (opengameart.org/content/rubber-duck)
Water (opengameart.org/content/32x32px-static-water-tileset)
Clouds (opengameart.org/content/clouds-set-01)
Ground (opengameart.org/content/tileset-collection)

Used Tools:

VisualStudio with Monogame (C#) (Gamedev)
Paint.net (Graphics)
Cubase (Music)

Team:

Good luck with playing "Adolf"!!!!

Ps.: If u use our code, pls send us an info about your results (love to see it)!

Decent first Ludum game. It's really difficult though, and at some points impossible to see what's coming up next.

Physics feels a bit weird - remember gravity is a force that accelerates the player, so jumping isn't just an up/down motion - it's the force of the player jumping giving an initial velocity, followed by the continuous force of gravity eventually reversing the momentum.
The graphical style needs work, it looks like you probably didn't have an artist.
Collisions could be done a little better, often my helicopter would explode and it didn't feel like my fault, it felt more like the game's. This needs to be avoided.
Sound effect feedback could help a lot on most actions.

The music was pretty good, and from a writing standpoint a lot of the narrative was pretty funny and I enjoyed that a lot.
