YoGo Burger by vinull

[raw]
made by vinull for LD28 (COMPO)
"It's your first day at YoGo Burger, and management has said it needs to make some cuts. Effectively immediately all customers can have only one item on a burger. Marketing suggests we do not tell customers of this new policy, and research shows people only care about one topping anyway so there should be no complaints.

Also, new policy for new hires: get one complaint and you're fired!"

Made with Unity, FL Studio (music), Audacity (sound effects), and Paint.net (amazing graphics)

NOTE: Mac and Linux were built on Windows, using Unity's export feature and not tested (I don't have systems to test with). It's probably fine though.

Good multiple use of theme (one topping, one burger, one complaint).

The graphics really are "so-bad-it's-good" MS Paint, as opposed to "actually bad" MS Paint.

Penalty gets stiff near then end. The skill challenge is taken away with blind luck in the upper levels.

I like the art in your game and the way the cashier always looks mad (is that an eyebrow or an eye?). At first I was just clicking on 1 item multiple times for a customer until their green bar was large enough for them to leave, but it got more tricky as the line got longer. After a while I found myself trying to remember thing like: "Was this the woman who hated onions or liked them?" Nice job.

Haha anyone who hasn't worked fast-food should at least play this game. Too funny.

Lost $528 in bribes by day 10. The gameplay is basically luck and memory, but it's a funny use of the theme.

Strong use of the theme, and I dig the story setup. Having the customers buy multiple burgers in a single day adds a memorization component that I enjoyed. Wish I could spend my tip money on something, though.

I really liked the game, the use of the theme is creative and it's different from other entrants. I didn't like how scaled the costs get later in the game, as I managed to lose over $1000 dollars with three people because I got unlucky, but overall good entry!

It should be more like a memory game but I just ended guessing what ingredient would be.

It's innovative, fun and works great as a memory game. Try and improve both the graphics and the audio and it will be very very cool. I could even see this in mobile devices. Great for a 48h compo entry.
