Experience Legion by calimeraw

[raw]
made by calimeraw for LD28 (COMPO)
For this ludumdare! I tried something experimental!

Play as a program part of a astonishing and shiny robot!
Every move is decided by all the people connected to it!
Also! The maximum damage by Legion is calculated by the number of player wanting to attack!

Have fun!

ABOUT THE GAME:
- This is a turn based rogue like
- Each turn the server wait 2 secs to receive messages from the players
- The action with the highest number will be execute.
- A maximum of 50 players is set.

UPDATE :
I have fix some bugs, also now you can see the number of player connected.
Also, for those which can't connect, this is due to my server. Sorry for that...

Not sure if that was multiplayer but once I connected to that server it was slow as a snail, Would have been great if things were a little faster. But other than that nice work.

Could not play, just loaded a black screen with some buttons on the left.

It's a nice idea and cute to boot, but I wasn't aware if there were any other players or not, which kinda eliminated one of the most interesting aspects of the pitch.

Very interesting game idea! I can't really judge the game play as I was the only person in the game.

i think the idea is brilliant. only so far you can take it in 48 hours, and the multiplayer aspect makes it difficult to evaluate. maybe an ai player as well next time? either way, i was amused. nice work.

Interesting concept!
Too bad I was the only player connected at the moment, it must be so much more fun to control the robot in more people (could be that the unanimousness boost the execution of commands - speed, attack strength).
Mapping buttons to arrow keys could be handy.

I like the idea, I was alone to play it sadly.

I think it's lacking a time feedback about your 2 seconds synchronisation, to help the player waiting.

And as Jarnick says, using keyboard to play it could be great.

Awesome idea! The two second evaluation feels slow with just one person connected, though. Perhaps the evaluation time could be dynamic with number of clients, maxing out at 2 seconds?

Having key commands would be a big help (maybe there are and I missed them?) - pressing the buttons felt really clunky to me. Also, it seems you can press a button multiple times to up the number of votes for that action.

Interesting idea, not so interesting game unfortunately :-) I think that something more action-based (realtime?) would be better/funnier for this type of controlling... just my thought.. :)

I think I might have seen somebody else in the game, but I'm not sure. Perhaps because I'm not so familiar with the genre, I had a hard time figure out whether I was actually attacking anything or not when I clicked on the attack button.
