Last Noir - adventure game tech demo by TimoVihola

It's the first Ludum Dare for me. Made with Unity. This entry was inspired by both new and old adventure games: Dear Esther & Grim Fandango to be more specific. If I could only get one more adventure game it would be a Grim Fandango sequel :) Didn't really have the time to throw in any gameplay in there but I had FUN!

The original idea was that somebody at the shady mansion will detonate a bomb which is in your suitcase and that's attached to your wrist with handcuffs. You have 30 seconds to stop them first. To complicate matters further you have only one bullet in your revolver. What I wanted to do was kinda like an interactive & moody version of the film "Source Code" where you're rushing to deal with people. In the worst case you would end up dying as many times as there are people until you find the assassin. That's where the them comes in: "You only get one chance"

Unfortunately at this stage it's nothing more than a tech demo with 1 NPC :) I originally wanted the location bigger and sprawling with shady characters - maybe someday I decide to refine it further with some real coder assistance.

Excellent environment! Pretty for a tech demo, looking forward to what you might do with it gameplay wise.

Added a link to the project files. Also fixed the web version sky glitch when played on Mac.

So it really is just looking around at the nice art?

Too bad you didn't have time to do anything else, because art / mood looks great.

Too bad there's no gameplay in here - the demo looks very stylish.

Was a little unsure what I had to do, but interesting concept nonetheless. Impressive for 48 hours.
