YOGO PUNCH by drewfitz
A 2-player skill game where you must outwit your opponent in what could possibly be explained as a drunken back-alley brawl.
First to 5 KO's wins! But beware, in each round only one punch will be thrown!
Hold your button to start punching and release it to withdraw your arm. If you withdraw completely you'll block. This is important as getting punched while blocking will automatically trigger a reversal, turning their own punch against them!
Tools used:
- Unity 4.3 (and it's nifty new 2D tools)
- Visual Studio 2013 for C# coding
- Photoshop CC for the shoddy pixel art
- Famitracker for the annoying background music
- SFXR for the crap sound effects
My first Ludum Dare compo AND my first "completed" Ludum Dare entry overall!
The game's ugly but not quite as ugly as that super compressed screenshot makes it out to be. haha

I kept getting reversed so I think I wasn't playing right. But the music is awesome, though you're right maybe a bit annoying after a while.

It's for 2 players. The reversal happens when your punch connects while they're blocking. Thanks for the compliment on the music, I had no idea what I was really doing in Famitracker haha!

Pity you didn't manage a 1 player version, just a dull one (puch for random seconds etc) would be an improvement. AI is easier to build than one thinks!

Interesting idea. I think it needs one more dimension, perhaps a little bit of movement, either forward and backward or up and down. Something else to use to juke and fake out the opponent. Great music.

Good to player game. The times-up button is a great idea.

I would have like a single player version.

The reversal is essentially a auto-win, so the game devolved into waiting for my opponent to get bored.
