Grid War by zeoverlord

[raw]
made by zeoverlord for LD28 (COMPO)
Simple and quick game to make, just try to get the red cubes while avoiding the blue ones.

This game was made on a win 7 machine with nvidia graphics hardware and i don't have other hardware to test one, but this game should be pretty stable.

It wont run on my machine, think you're missing the C++ redistributable .dll. "MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer" is the error I get.

Couldn't run. :( Clicked on the .exe and it gave me this error:

"The program can't start because MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer."

I'm using Windows 7.

It reminds me of Robotron. I kind of wished there was a little more action than moving around a 2d grid in space, though.

Great game. My highest score so far is 12. Thought it was funny that I too have a grid based game where you play as a cube, although in mine you have to avoid the red cubes. I think with some more variety in the actions the player can take this could become really really interesting. A good example of how a solid prototype can be a fun demonstration of a simple mechanic.

Really nice little puzzle. Got to score 16, suppose it's not super-much but it got a bit crowded and crazy there. Fun though. A technical comment, it would have been nice with a window so the game could be moved and a quit-button inside the game.

A general comment: They way Ludum Dare works, you must rate to get rated! This entry really deserves a reliable rating. For that you need to get going and quickly rate some games. Twenty or so at least. Leave comments and make sure to always rate those that commented on yours.

Very cool! Remembered me of the snake games, similar objective and similar progression of difficulty.
Simple but efficient.
Good job!
