Underminers Inc. by quadtree

[raw]
made by quadtree for LD29 (COMPO)
Underminers Inc. is an RTS centered around mining both for ore and tactical advantage. Send out your miners to dig tunnels, and collect ore. Then refine that ore into military units to attack the hostile miners who are trying to steal your ore (and kill your bots, too).

Note that due to time, the UI is a bit unpolished/buggy. If units ever get into strange states, like getting stuck against walls, remember that you can always reset their command queue by giving them a single move order. You can also order drills to work on a specific "mining plan" spot by selecting them and right clicking on the orange X of the plan.

Well, I never even came close to beating the AI, but I had fun anyways!

Was fun and addictive, though they raided you maybe a bit fast to understand things fully at first. Still, music was nice, looked nice, and was fun to get more into. I lost every time.

Unbelievable, done in only 48 hours. Good job man.
A little more instruction while playing will also be very good. But it is really nice. Well done.

Once you get a hang of the controls it's enjoyable :)

Impressive work for 48 hours! The handling of the units feels very solid. The AI is a bit too hard maybe. The first time I was overrun by the enemy and the second time they destroyed my refinery. I had good fun! Well done.

Great job creating a RTS in 48hrs. I played a few times but DAMN that AI is aggressive and hard! Wish there was a way to make it a bit easier to learn otherwise I just keep getting defeated too early.

Great job for 48 hrs! I needed a bit of time to get used to the controls. It seems that it's a blitz game: you should quickly attack the opponent. my last game ended in a stalemate: I couldn't build a transport to move the ore and get money, and apparently neither could the CPU!

Making an AI in 48h is very impressive.
It is tough the first time, i understand it the second time and beat it the third.

the user interface is a little blurry, but effective after some games.

An impressive job, well done.

+1 overall for the AI

Great game, you accomplished a lot in that short amount of time. Would like to play it longer, but the AI is too strong for me. A tutorial for the beginning would have been nice. Some polishing and the game will be awesome.

Wow, nice job. Hope you'll further develop the game, if the very basic version seems almost finished.

I feel like the AI needs some work... if I had no bots close to the entrance they carved to get to me (stupid zerglings :< ), they would pause for a bit before continuing to destroy my base. This is a really, really good start, though.

This was great, I'm so impressed that the AI actually puts up a really difficult fight. Obviously there are a few rough spots with the UI but all the systems seem to work together and I found myself playing a lot longer than I expected to. Nice work!
