Killer Driller: Enemy Beneath by Bownly

Here it is: my first non-mini-LD-LD entry! And if you managed to parse that sentence successfully on your first read, then congratulations! But enough of that, what about the game?

I loosely based the vehicle design off of Sophia the 3rd from the Blaster Master series. And because of that I found it fitting to borrow more elements from the series such as a name, story elements, and title screen design. :P

The game was made in Game Maker, so sorry to all of you non-Windows users. (Next time maybe I'll learn to use a multiplatform tool.) Also, I used Musagi and Audacity for the audio.

All of the controls and story are explained within the game itself. Well, all except for the cheat button.

Oh yeah, and apologies for the "music". It was my first time ever attempting to make music of any kind.

Not too shabby. It would've been nice if there were a way to kill the the bug from the side you were on (Like hitting one attacking the city while you're on top of it.)

Not bad! I'm not sure there's any need for the player to take damage from the monsters, the cities are the only health bar you really need. By the end I was just defending a single city, spamming the fire button into the center, with no chance of losing, so it needs some sort of mechanic to avoid things getting into that dead end.

I thought the music wasn't too bad once in the game! Good work :)
