made by Brizee for LD29 (COMPO)
So... this game technically meets the requirements for 48 hour compo entry but I do feel it's important to point out, I'd all but assumed I'd missed this as I had plans for the weekend in internet lacking places. So, when I got back at 8:30pm local time, I decided to have a go at making a game in 5h 30m, with no idea of a theme or anything.

That's what you see here, it's about as original as a ginger Scot in a kilt getting sun burn, (see Flappy Bird) but still, everything from the horrible naming conventions to shockingly bad coder art was made by et moi in the last few hours of the competition. And I didn't even have to deprive myself of sleep. :)

I think you did well with [S.O.S.]. It's a pretty simple game, but I'm impressed with the bubbles you added behind the sub. Maybe that's easy to do in Unity, but I feel like it's hard to do in Flash which is what I did my game in.

Glad you were able to get it done on time and make an entry even though you were late to the compo. Well done!

Not terrible for such a quick turnaround. It's feels like "flappy sub." The SOS audio is pretty harsh.

The pace feels way too slow. Part of the reason Flappy Bird is so popular is that the game doesn't have any filler; there's no delay between the pipes, so you die fast and can replay the game a lot more than you could otherwise. This game takes a while to get interesting, and when you die you have to wait another two minutes to get to the fun part!
