Beach Bods by Rulrite

[raw]
made by Rulrite for LD35 (COMPO)
With summer just around the corner, there's no better time to get your beach bod in shape. The race to nab the beefiest and bounciest bods is already well underway!

You have just 30 seconds - that's half a minute - to help people make their dreams a reality. Don't be shy - just poke away at any imperfections until you've crafted a masterpiece. That's right! Hooray for otherwise unrealistic and/or unobtainable beauty standards!

>>> How to Play <<<

- Just use the mouse! Click a body part to change its shape.
- There are four parts you can change: two chest parts and two stomach parts.
- Try to match the body shape of the model in the background! Use it as a reference.
- If you make sure not to skip over 'perfect' body parts, you can earn a juicy combo bonus. If only you weren't on a strict time limit...
- What? Why do you only have 30 seconds...? Well, it's not my fault! Blame the bomb!
- If the window is too big or too small, you can just click and drag the borders to resize it.

>>> Difficulty Differences <<<

Easy: Only male figures will appear.
Medium: Both men and women will show up.
Hard: Bodies appear even more scrambled than before!

>>> Notes <<<

The music was randomly generated by cgMusic. It's helped me out a bunch; I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't know where else to turn for the Ludum Dare! http://codeminion.com/blogs/maciek/2008/05/cgmusic-computers-create-music/

I must say that I'm very sorry for the sound effects. I mean, how do you even make a 'ding' sound with your mouth?

Finally, please have fun playing my game! Let me know if you can beat a score of... 15!

You have a style and personality in all your stuff that I really like. The game was fun and made me laugh. Vocal sfx are perfect - I wouldn't apologize for them at all! Especially the *ding* :) Seeing the totally lopsided bodies on hard was really funny

Wowww, your game is awesome!! hehe

Really, I laughed a lot with the strange shapes, in level hard, and, mainly, with the sound effects... very, very creative man!

I also liked the challenger gameplay. Great job! :D

Ahh, I was forgetting, after many years trying and trying, I got the following score:

Easy: 24
Medium: 18
Hard: 7 (I tried, but I was unable to get something greater :( )

Great game! I always love pixel art, and it's a funny implementation of the theme! The music was nice as well, thanks for sharing about cgMusic, I wish I'd known that before LD. Your sound effects were very fun and gave the game character. Even if I wished for more time (especially in hard), the fact that the game lasts for 30 seconds I believe is a good thing, since people playing can try out all the difficulties.
There's only 1 thing that disappoints me... That i can't get a beach bod so fast in real life. :P Great job.

Fun voice audio and the concept was a great use of the theme. Clever fun simple game that was quite addictive to play. Also think the 30 second countdown was a nice additional pressure.

Your game definitely stands out due to its unique idea. Great execution as well! I could see it in extended form as an app store download.

Super funny Compo entry, love your idea and theme interpretation. The pixel art and animations were eye-candy and hilarious. You also did an especially good work on Audio, that's pretty rare to hear voices in a jam game. I really enjoyed playing it, get a score of 17 in medium and liked the way you put little funny details which makes the entry memorable and strong overall.
