Sea Snake Escape by bvssvni

[raw]
made by bvssvni for LD29 (COMPO)
I've been working on a back-end agnostic 2d graphics engine for Rust. It was my goal in this competition to flesh out some of the API and test the performance. Some of the features in the game were added during the 48 hours.

I used a font image as reference for hard coded polynomials, since the graphics engine does not yet support textures. Took it from the link http://www.ffonts.net/DS-Digital.font.download

Really nice to see someone using Rust, I've been watching it's progress from the sidelines with interest. It'd be great to read about your experiences making a game with it (especially on this short a timescale). It'd also be great if you could provide a Windows binary for the game though - I'm afraid having to check out & compile the game in order to try it out was a few steps too far for me (sorry!).

This was cool. But please provide a binary next time. It makes it easier to play!

Nice experiment, a pity it's so difficult to run it for a beginner user. Still looking forward for future versions :)
