Naumachia by BlueLlama
Naumachia - Ancient Roman Naval Warfare
Naumachia, literally meaning naval combat in Latin, was an Ancient Roman event in which naval battles were re-enacted for entertainment. It involved a large arena or coliseum, filled with water. Where gladiators and prisoners fought to the death.
Instructions:
WASD to move your ship around. Left-click to select a soldier, then right-click a position for them to move to. When a soldier is killed he flips upside-down and ceases to jump. A ship is sunk when it's general is killed. The game is won when all other ships are sunk!

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.
Yeah, I know what you mean, I have since rebalanced the game, but will leave the Jam version up for a while.
A cool idea, and nice art.
Yeah, the standing on their heads thing was my, not so clear, way of showing that they were dead. We didn't have time to rig or animate any of them.
* Hard to control your ship
* Lack of UI and stats of the ship and crew
Anyway, good job!
Anyway congratulations.
Very beautiful assets! This is probably the most good-looking 3d game I've seen so far.
Great job!
however I had difficulties moving the soldiers, they didn's respond at all to the controls...the zoom was also a bit wacky
and for the sake of azerty users please don't forget implement arrows keys ;)
The zoom was completely wacky, it was just an fov reduction, given more time I'd have loved to implement something proper.
I hadn't considered azerty users, and I didn't even think to make the keys re-bindable, I'll definitely think to do so I the future. Thanks
The physics are a little weird, the pacing a little slow, the strategy a little luck-based.
I won just by waiting the AI to move and let their general unprotected, then I would send one of my soldiers to their general and sink the ship. I did this for all three of them, and won easily.
So the game is just about moving (slowly) your ship, waiting for the enemy to send their waves, and time the launching of your soldier into the enemy general. Not much of a gameplay.
But, anyway, it looks promising, the concept is good. Just needs more polishing and more content to make strategies (on plural) viable.
