Sashimi by Pixelbear

[raw]
made by Pixelbear for LD36 (JAM)
Set in the distant future, Sashimi is about an astronaut that crash landed on a far-away ocean planet. While maintaining communication with Jones, their contact back on Earth, Jones suggests passing the time using a little ancient technology, a fishing rod, and the story begins.

Sashimi is a fishing game with light visual novel elements. It features voice acting (by me!) and a beautiful, relaxing environment to fish in.

Controls are explained in-game. However, if you want to change the volume, use the +/- keys.

Note: I know the link to the theme is fragile. ;P

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

What a lovely experience. Atmosphere and the narration are so relaxing. Very nice looking, polished and overall fun game. I guess I'm going fishing now.

We didn't get past the second fishing phase, because the rightmost fish never turned up, and fishing to the far right seemed impossibly hard. Did we do something wrong? The graphics are impressive, and we liked the narrative, even though subtitles would have been nice because of the static noise. Lovely title screen as well, and fun writing.

Really enjoyable fishing minigame and the calming aesthetic/ sound was great. The narrator swearing did ruin the immersion a bit.

Thanks for the feedback!
@blinry Probably didn't do anything wrong. Probably just had some awful luck. I would've included subtitles if I had the time. ;P
@Allthebees Fair point! I'll keep that in mind. :)
