Let's look at the mechanics - the shooting is somewhat unresponsive, it could have been polished up a bit more. The feedback for whether you hit or not is good, although I'd personally have wanted to hear a different sound when I hit something, even just a change in tone. \r<br\/>\r<br\/>Overall, and I am saying this because I love you :3, you'd have been better off working on the mechanics more than on the graphics. Even the most astounding transformation effects would still be marred by somewhat by these mechanics. An alternative could have been to vary the types of people that approach you (but the different signs is a nice touch, "literally beneath the surface" - nice)."},{"author_name":"alastaira","author_uid":"26503","time":"Apr 29, 2014 @ 6:57am","epoch":1398754320,"text":"CupcakeMedia - all comments noted and agreed! TBH, I ended up spending so much time on technical issues - most of which don't even contribute to the game you see here - that I had very little energy left for gameplay, and I think that shows ;)\r<br\/>\r<br\/>For next time, I'll start with the gameplay first and then use up what spare time I have on the graphics after, rather than the other way around!"},{"author_name":"lyla","author_uid":"35718","time":"Apr 30, 2014 @ 11:04pm","epoch":1398898740,"text":"I really like seeing people do more "non-standard\/psychological" takes on the theme. The people are bright pink for me, though it didn't throw me since the world is pretty simplistic. I'm not sure what kind of mood you're going for. It feels kind of like you're shooting at the people with signs, which I think is a little...odd for a game about love. At some points I clicked on someone when they were too close and I couldn't read what was on the sign (which is the interesting part of the game). If it's supposed to be meditative about inner beauty, I'd slow it down\/maybe not make the people look like they are swarming you. Anyway, great job!"},{"author_name":"TeamInCharge","author_uid":"27767","time":"May 6, 2014 @ 5:45pm","epoch":1399398000,"text":":D I thought them fella's were supposed to be pink lol, until I read your post. It's the bravest take on the theme I've seen so far. Love the animation. I actually waited shooting a couple of times, because I couldn't read the signs :P Classic gameplay. Atari Battlezone (1980) was like that. Use mouse to look around, and click to show a little love to people to reveal their inner beauty, behind their sometimes jaded exterior.\r\nThe game ends if a person gets to you before you have seen beneath their surface.\r\n\r\nCame up with the idea of literally seeing beneath the surface of a 3d model by exploding the geometry into triangles, and spent almost an entire day wrestling with a DX11 geometry shader to achieve this - only to find the effect is barely distinguishable from a simple particle effect! Also made the shader selectively colour the t-shirts a random colour on instantiation, so at least I learned quite a lot.\r\n\r\nRequires DX11, which means Windows only machines I'm afraid. Also, I've noticed a very annoying bug on certain graphics cards that seem to mess up the scale\/offset, meaning that the crosshair (and text) appear about a centimetre too far to the left, making the game almost unplayable. Will have to look into that in the future.\r\n\r\nUsed Unity\/Paint.NET\/Blender\/MakeHuman\/BXFR\r\n","title":"Show a Little Love"}
