WindPowered! by Guennor

I'd like to thank everyone that is playing it! It still has some bugs but I think most of the gameplay I wanted to include in it is implemented. This is the first official ludum dare i've ever finished, after years of trying.

You are Sir William Pym, also known as Pym Will, an ingenious explorer that can harness the power of wind. See how far up you can go using his wind powered vessel!
Controls:
Swipe to use your windmancy! You can invert the swipe directions, too!
Tips:
-A gush of wind upwards with leaves means that your next swipe up may cause some items to be thrown upwards!
-Sometimes you will come across an impassable gate. It has a combination of arrows under it - you need to swipe in the order the arrows appear for the game to open, and you need to do that above the dotted line.
-Don't go too fast. You'll most definitely die if you do. Doesn't matter if you go slow, just keep your pace and you should be fine.
-Please don't play with a touchpad :P The ideal situation is playing on a touchscreen, but it works with a mouse as well.
All of the art assets were painted by me.
Most of the programming was done by me - except for the touch assets that I always use - touch controls are kind of too hard for me to program in a timely manner. Shout-out to the fine folks who made this wonderful asset, Easy Touch, that helped me SO much since college.

It took me awhile to figure how to move up. please improve that. The controls - very unique and fun.
Graphics - very nice & uniform - good job.
Fun: The game was pretty fun.
Theme: Your take on the theme was ok.
Graphics: You did a great job on that part. I think the graphics are fitting perfect for a mobile game like this.
Overall: This was honestly one of the better games that I鈥檝e played so far this LD. It was a little hard for me to fly up high but I defently had fun with your game.
Congratulations on finishing Ludum Dare 36! I鈥檇 really appreciate it if you could take the time to leave some feedback on my game in return. You can find it at

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.
I like just using drums as BGM
But the game seems hard for me, I'm always having trouble when it's at high speed.
Still, cool game. Well done!
I liked the game a lot. The balloon is hard to control. Maybe it would get better with practice, but I think you should tune it more. Some of the obstacle appear to block the entire screen, which is confusing.
Game has some troubles with landscape orientation (UI scales by width so buttons become very large) and collision detection. Nevertheless, these issues are easy to solve and gameplay has good potential)
Good luck!
love the aesthetic and the fan-people couple lol,
anyway, i don't know if i find a bug or not, but for some reason when i flying up theres like 1 screen full of spike, but when touch it does nothing, and about couple seconds from there i also see couple of spike that dissapear suddenly :/
Upgrade are a little j=hard to obtain at the beggining.
Congratulation for you work!
Played it on web, but whit these mechanics, it is crying for the Android version :D
Gonna try it tomorrow!
To be fair, I'm not sure about the upgrade. Is it good to rise faster?
Loved it anyway
