The Big Sweep by Bobsleigh
Here is a little platformer the four of us built on the weekend! We used Python (pygame) and Tiled. We tried to make a release without any dependencies, tell us if it works for you.
For the three of us, it's our third or second LD (and our third or second game ever!)
You need to clean you house of old appliances! You can do both level in whatever order from the main menu. Complete both to win!
Controls:
WASD for movement
SpaceBar for jumping
Hold left mouse click to charge attack distance
Release left mouse to fire
M to mute
Version :
Windows : If one doesn't work, try the other.
OS/X : You need to have XQartz https://www.xquartz.org/ to run the game.
Linux : We don't have a version yet (working on it).
Music :
The music is from Visager.

- Factory time
- Miniboss Fight
We did not have the time to create our own music. freemusicarchive.org is a cool site, check it out!

Any chance of getting mp3's of the background music? Pretty damn good chiptune you got going there, if you don't mind me saying!
Pretty hard little platformer, but it feels really great to play.
It lacks of polish, but in a way it gives a lot of charm to the game!
Congratulations for that entry! :)
Very nice music too. Also I keep falling on those sharp things and die... perhaps they could be reduce health instead?
It's from Visager. (I will add this info in the description)

Needless to say, I haven't finished a level, because I'm too impatient and give up too quickly, but for anyone who looks for a real challenge, this game is perfect.
Even though the quirky retro audiovisual style is well done, I'm not a big fan of it, and I must admit I wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to download the game looking at the screenshots.
The gameplay itself felt very smooth, nothing to complain about.
All in all, nice game, just not my cup of tea.
the atmosphere is very unique and interesting, and so are the enemies, well done.
the level design is better then a lot of other entries here, it seems really thought out and it adds a lot.
your game is fun and challenging, and have it's own style :)
I think you die too quickly from the spikes without even realizing what happened, maybe lag a second after death before jumping to the start screen?
